St. Matthew's News

Auction Letter

Hello from the vestry and members of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church!

Since 50 people attended our first service on Easter, 1958, our parish has had a strong focus on community, outreach, and healing ministries for members of all ages.  Sharing our gifts of time, talents and resources has remained a part of who we are and what we do.

In support of these goals, we are excited to announce a special event—a live Auction
to be held at the church on
September 16, 2017, at 6:30pm to benefit the many programs comprising our outreach ministries, including:

  • Every 6 weeks, a group serves lunch at the Cathedral downtown for the homeless
  • Several times a year, members cook and serve dinner at the Brookside Center for families in need
  • During the holidays, we prepare gifts for shut-ins and supply gift cards for Adoption Network and to youth in foster care
  • For Valentine’s Day, we send cookies to collegians and military.
  • We periodically send educational materials to a school in El Salvador

By such outreach efforts we celebrate our stewardship of God's gifts.
Now, we are asking you to share in this endeavor.

  • If you have any items or services to donate (value >$50), we would appreciate your donation. The Auction program will list all donors and encourage guests to support your enterprise. In addition, a form officially acknowledging your gift for tax purposes will be given for all donations.
  • If you know of a friend, colleague, local business, etc. who might do the same, please ask them on our behalf or allow us to contact them for a donation.

The Auction event promises to be an evening of fun and socializing while browsing the bid items, so your participation will be a valuable contribution.
